Clinique Chubby Sticks Cheek Colour Balm in Roly Poly Rosy, Plumped Up Peony, Robust Rhubarb & Amp'd Up Apple

Clinique's phenomenally successful Chubby Stick format has finally made it over to cheeks - and they're gorgeous.  Available in four shades, they promise creamy colour for mistake-proof blush.

Roly Poly Rosy, Plumped Up Peony, Robust Rhubarb, Amp'd Up Apple
I was pleased to note that all four shades have a relatively neutral toned base, meaning that they'll work on all skin tones.  The shades are all subtle and natural - there are no super bright pops of colour, rather colours which give a pretty flush.

Size wise, the Cheek Colour Balms are chunkier than the lip crayons - and as you'd expect, the end is more flat to give you a good swipe of colour across the cheek.

The shades swatch quite sheerly, and when blended out they translate to a delicate wash of colour.  They're perfectly layerable, though, enabling you to build up the colour to whatever intensity you desire.  Texture wise, they're very creamy - blending is a doddle with either fingertips or a brush.

Plumped Up Peony
I'm wearing a light flush of Plumped Up Peony here, and the effect is soft and pretty with a slight glow.  The finish is very natural, very real skin - the resulting flush doesn't look like you're wearing any makeup at all.

Overall, I'm really impressed with these new super size Cheek Chubbies.  The softness in the colours is perfect for paler complexions, the creamy texture makes them easy to apply, and the shades are a perfect match for a natural look or for a strong lip.  At £19, I also think you're getting a reasonable amount of product for your money, as well as a cheek product which is eminently portable for on-the-go touchups.  I can see Plumped Up Peony being a firm favourite in my makeup bag for a long time yet.

Find them now on Clinique counters, and on the Clinique website.
