Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint in Flowering Freesia, Poppin' Poppy and Coming Up Rosy

Meet the latest addition to Clinique's ever expanding Chubby Stick family - Chubby Stick Baby Tint, a very softly tinted lip balm designed to add a hint of colour and plenty of moisture to the lips.

It's been released in a small run of four colours - Coming Up Rosy, a rosy red; Poppin' Poppy, a peachy shade; Flowering Freesia, a delicate lilac; and Budding Blossom, a pale pink.  The format is exactly the same as the original Chubbies - twist-up, shade matching packaging with a moisturising, comfortable texture.

If you squint, you can probably just about see the hint of colour in these swatches.  This is a very, very lightly tinted product, and you'll like it if you're fond of a super natural look.

On the lip, the effect is subtle and pretty - too subtle for my liking.  If I'm shelling out £17 for a lip product, I'd rather it had a more noticeable effect on my lips.  This softly tinted, moist look isn't new on the high street - tinted balms from the likes of Burts Bees and even Vaseline have done it before.  For much less.

If you love the Chubby concept and are craving something light and natural, you might well like Chubby Stick Baby Tint - for me, though, they don't offer enough to match their £17 pricetag.  Find them at the Clinique website, and on counter.
