BUY THIS NOW: Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Tumultuous Pink
When Estee Lauder add a new lipstick to their already fabulous Pure Color lineup, I sit up and take notice. As a self confessed lipstick addict, I absolutely love the original Pure Color lipsticks - they deliver beautifully pigmented colour, comfortable wear, and last for bloody ages on the lip. The newest variation is Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick, and I had to try them out. HAD TO.
First off - packaging. Lovely. Slightly rounded, weighty in the hand, and in possession of one of those oh-so-satisfying magnetic click-closures. I could play with it all day. Also, in a surprising twist, this lipstick is encased in navy, not in gold, silver, or black. Nice.
The lipstick itself has a fairly standard shaped bullet. Not much to see here.
But OH, so much to see here! As you'd expect, the colour glides on with beautiful intensity and opacity. My lips above have been treated to a single layer of lipstick, people. This stuff is intense. It's also very creamy, but not in a thin, quick gliding creamy way - it's thick, almost waxy-creamy, and the texture makes me feel like I have to apply it slowly and sensuously.
The end result is richly coloured lips, with a satin finish. I'm also pleased to report that the colour lasts exceptionally well - I get around 6 to 7 hours before it starts feeling a little dry and a little less punchy. Not bad at all.
Now, you're probably expecting that this rather lovely lipstick is going to be expensive, given the glorious pigmentation, excellent wear, and moisturising benefits. And you'd be right - £24, which once was very very expensive for a lipstick, and is now merely quite expensive (comparatively at least). Still, if you're a lipstick power user, and you expect great performance for your money, you won't be disappointed.
You'll find Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in a staggering 21 shades at Estee Lauder counters, and online, now.
Disclosure: Purchased by me. And worth every penny.

Such a pretty shade! And the staying power is so impressive!
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing with your hair - where your hair is a pinkish tinted red, and the lippy is such a rich pink, it looks made for you! I love EL lipsticks. One of the few expensive ones I actually think are worth the price.
