Last week, I wrote about the Rituals Lotus Secret candle, which is part of Rituals' limited edition Indian Summer collection. In addition to the candle, the range also contains three bodycare products - Flower Shower foam, £8.50; Lotus Shimmer body cream, £18, and Summer Bliss shower oil, £8.50.
The shower foam is a product I've tried and loved before - it's a clear gel which bursts into masses of foam when it comes in contact with water. The fragrance is strong enough to scent the air in the shower beautifully, but doesn't linger on the skin. The body cream has a bit of a secret - as well as being a suitably rich, butter-like cream, it has a subtle golden shimmer running through it, making it rather nice to use before an evening out in the summer sun.
For me, the stand out product is the shower oil. A couple of pumps gives you a palmful of golden, softly scented oil. Applied to damp skin, it emulsifies - it doesn't quite turn into a foam, but there's a very light lather which is enough to cleanse the skin without drying it out. After use, my skin feels amazingly soft and silky, making the shower oil a wonderfully indulgent skin treat at a very reasonable price.
