Makeup Revolution Redemption Eyeshadow Palette in Romantic Smoked

Makeup Revolution is a new brand brought to us by the founder of MUA - so straight off the bat we can expect decent quality makeup at a low price, available in Superdrug stores and online.  The range has launched with a staggering range of products - 300 of them to be precise - and as you'd expect, prices start from a very wallet friendly £1.  Being the industrious, curious, makeup obsessed person I am, I immediately placed an order on their website, and the highlight of that order is this rather lovely Naked-a-like Redemption Eyeshadow Palette in Romantic Smoked.

The palette contains twelve eyeshadows; six have a rich shimmer finish, and six are matte.  The shades are predominantly purple based, with some complementary neutrals thrown in for good measure, and there's good shade variation from light to dark to give you plenty of looks from one palette.

As you can see, the pigmentation is pretty decent.  The shimmer finishes are my favourites because I'm a bit of a magpie, but the matte finish shadows are also excellent - they're a little powdery, and you have to be careful to load up your brush carefully to avoid fallout, but they're well pigmented, reasonably blendable and not at all chalky.  I've been using the palette for the past few weeks and I absolutely love it - it provides endless smoky purple/taupe/neutral eye looks, and every single shade complements my hazel eyes and cool toned complexion.

Granted, the packaging is cheap, and you might as well throw the sponge applicator away immediately.  But seriously, this palette packs a lot of punch for a mere £4 price tag.  I might well buy one in every colour.  Find it at the Makeup Revolution website now.

Disclosure:  Bought by me as part of a Makeup Revolution haul which cost only £40 in total.  Bargain.
