L'Oreal Les Nudes Collection Privee: Eva's Nude, Julianne's Nude, and Cheryl's Nude

L'Oreal have recently released a collection of eight nude lipsticks, one to match the skintone of their eight spokeswomen.  It's a great idea, and something I'm surprised hasn't been done before - nude lips tend to make me think of a universal beige shade, which does work for some folk, but definitely doesn't work for me.  The prospect of this collection is that you choose the nude for the spokeswoman whose skintone and colouring is most like yours - simple.

I've got three of the eight shades here to show you - Eva's Nude, which is called Barely Golden; Julianne's Nude, which is Barely Peach; and Cheryl's Nude, Barely Greige.

The lipsticks themselves are beautifully textured - they go on soft and slippy, but set down quickly to remain comfortable on the lip for a good three or four hours.  They're hydrating, too - and it's possible to build up the colour from a soft tint to a slightly more opaque finish.

Of the celebrities, I'm closest in colouring to Julianne Moore - pale cool skin, red hair - and Julianne's Nude suits my skintone brilliantly.  It's been a bit of a revelation, actually - I've always tried beige based nudes and hated them, as they just make my skin look grey toned, and this soft nude-pink is far, far more flattering.

At £8.20, these lipsticks are a great way to try out some new takes on nude - and who knows, you might find a shade which surprises you.  Find them at Boots now.
