Tom Ford Autumn: Ombre Eye Colour in She Wolf

I'll admit that when I saw Tom Ford's autumn colour collection, my heart started beating a little faster, mostly due to this little beauty - meet Ombre Eye Colour in She Wolf.  The autumn collection marks the first time Mr Ford has offered us an eyeshadow trio instead of a quad - and the two trios in this collection are both very, very tempting.  In the Pink is a mix of soft, neutral pink shades for creating a contoured eye, and She Wolf is a mix of cool toned shades which lean gloriously towards taupe.  Everyone loves a taupe.

Swatched, the colours are wonderfully pigmented, and all three are shades I'll happily wear every day. The first shade is a deep brown/black, with a matte finish - it's extremely soft, and you'll find that dipping an eyeshadow brush into it can result in the powder crumbling if you're not very, very gentle.  The second shade is greyish taupe with a subtle shimmer to the finish.  It's not metallic, but it's not a flat matte either.  The final shade is one of Tom Ford's Celestial ones - it's a glitter.  A super-iridescent glitter, which surprisingly doesn't fall out onto the cheekbones as much as other glitter shadows I've tried.

The shades in this palette remind me somewhat of the ones in the Silvered Topaz quad I already have.

I used the middle shade all over the lid, and the first shade used to contour the crease, then topped the whole thing off with a bit of the glitter shade.  Add some black eyeliner and plenty of mascara, and you've got a wearable smoky eye which goes easily from day to night.

Lush.  I really love the colours in this palette - they're a perfect cool-toned taupe combo and one which I'll be wearing frequently this autumn/winter.  Now for the hard part.... this palette is £50.  Gulp.

£50 for three eyeshadows is very, very expensive, but this is Tom Ford we're talking about here.  The packaging is luxe, the shadow quality is excellent... if you have the cash to splash, She Wolf is definitely worth a look.  Find it at Harrods now.
