NOTD: Nails Inc Gel Effect in Kensington High Street

Nails Inc have followed their Gel Effect topcoat with a set of four Gel Effect Polishes, which promise a super shiny finish and a plumping effect without the need for a full light-cured manicure.  The new polishes come in a special bottle with a shiny, shade matching cap and a new square shape.

I've applied this colour about three times since I brought it home - partially because it's the perfect shade for autumn, and partially because it unfortunately doesn't last quite as well as Nails Inc's ordinary polishes - I get chipping by the third day.  Whilst I'm being negative, I also really dislike the new bottle - that rectangular cap is difficult to hold in the hand, and makes painting your nails a bit awkward.

I do like the incredible shine, though - this photo was taken at around 7am, without a great deal of light, and the shine is still obvious.  Oh, and I'm not wearing topcoat.  It's very, very glossy, and although it doesn't look quite like a gel manicure, it comes closer than any other polish I've tried.  I'm still not sure what they mean by plumping effect, though.

If you'd like to get your hands on this shade, it's available at BeautyBay, where it'll cost you £11.34 instead of the usual £14.
