Swatch: Illamasqua Gleam in Supernatural

Illamasqua's Gleam is a product I've been dying to try for ages - the original Aurora shade has a reputation for being a stunning highlighter, perfect for giving an ethereal glow.  The summer collection, Paranormal, introduces a new shade - Supernatural, described as a warm bronze.

In the pan, it's an intense looking coppery bronze with a fine microshimmer.  The texture is creamy and slippy, and my brand new compact showed some signs of oiliness developing on the surface.

Swatched, the cream looks pretty damn frosty - and rather highly pigmented to boot.

But blended out, it's far more subtle - the bronze colour becomes sheerer and more subtle, and the frostiness turns into a subtle sheen.  Even if you look at this photo full size, you can't see more than a smattering of shimmer - it's definitely not glittery.  I can imagine this shade looking amazing alongside a bit of a tan.

Supernatural is £18, making it fairly spendy but thanks to the lovely pliable texture and flattering finish, I think it's a price worth paying, particularly if you like to look bronzed and healthy in the summer.  It's made me want to try Aurora even more.
