NOTD: Essie Leading Lady

Leading Lady is one of Essie's holiday 2012 polishes, and it's an absolute beauty.  A deep, raspberry red with fine glitter, the effect is more subtle than a full on glitter polish but just as pretty.  This slimline bottle comes from a holiday three-pack.

Application was gorgeously smooth, which surprised me given the density of glitter in the polish.  The brush is wide enough to coat the entire nail in one go, which is always nice - although the wide brush only just fits in the neck of this smaller, thinner bottle, and I had to be careful when putting it back into the bottle to avoid bending the bristles.

On the nail, it feels reasonably smooth, although as with anything glittery it did need some topcoat to bring out the maximum sparkle.  Removal was also pretty easy for a glittery polish - I didn't need the full tin-foil soaking treatment, but there was a little bit of scrubbing involved.

As an individual polish, it seems to be sold out at many of the bigger online beauty stores, but you'll find it at Boots in a three-pack with two other colours from the holiday collection (Snap Happy, a coral red, and Beyond Cozy, a taupe/silver sparkle).
