Thoughts on Emma Hardie Hydrating Lighter Lotion and Rejuvenating Night Cream
I bought a QVC special value set a while ago, which included a number of Emma Hardie products at an amazing price. For £44, I got a full size Moringa Cleansing Balm (which I love), a full size tube of the Amazing Face Hydrating Lighter Lotion, a full size pot of Rejuvenating Night Cream, and a sample size serum.
I've been using the Hydrating Lighter Lotion and Rejuvenating Night Cream for a while now, and I'm a little torn over what to think. The Lighter Lotion is indeed very light, and hydrates my skin perfectly without leaving it feeling coated or with any residue at all. It's amazing how quickly it's absorbed into the skin, and the hydration lasts all day on my combination-dry skin. The Rejuvenating Night Cream is a richer affair but still comparatively light; it's almost balm like, and leaves my skin feeling pampered and moisturised. Neither product has a noticeable effect on the skin, however - I'd describe them as nice, but nowhere near as impactive as other products I've used.
On the flip side, I've found that none of the Emma Hardie products travel particularly well. My Moringa cleansing balm cracked in a way that isn't a deal breaker, but does waste some product. The Lighter Lotion has been one one trip abroad with me, and it's suffered a fair few scuffs and dents. These are definitely products to stand on your dressing table rather than products to chuck into your overnight bag.
All this adds up to a distinct feeling of being underwhelmed by these products. I would repurchase the cleansing balm, and at £30 a jar, that's a pretty big compliment. The moisturisers are a different kettle of fish, though - the Lighter Lotion RRPs at £38, and the Rejuvenating Night Cream RRPs at £56. And whilst they're perfectly nice products, I don't think either is special enough to command such a high price tag. I won't be repurchasing.
