Swatches: NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Grand Palais

When I spotted Grand Palais at a recent NARS event, I knew it had to be mine - and I ordered it online that very evening.  The combination of a shimmery yet subtle taupe and a warm, pinkish red makes this eyeshadow duo a wearable neutral that's a little bit unusual.

The shadows are finely milled and well pigmented, and apply smoothly and evenly from the pan.  The taupe has a shimmery sheen to it which isn't over the top for daytime wear.  The reddish shade is almost matte, but has none of the chalkiness that you might expect from a matte eyeshadow.

On the eye, Grand Palais makes for a neutral, flattering look which works brilliantly for day time and, paired with black liner and a strong lip, makes for a great evening look too.  I'm so glad I bought this duo - the colours suit my complexion very well, and the reddish shade brings out the green in my eyes when I use it as a crease colour.  If you quite like this duo, you'll find it at NARS' website, where it will cost you £23.50 - you'll need to be quick, though, as it's a limited edition shade.

  1. This is a really interesting colour combo, but I can see why it gets so much love in the blogosphere. I wouldn't think the pink would be that flattering, but it is :3
