Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick Challenge: Day 5 - English Rose

This is a tricky one.  English Rose is a light yet bright pink, and a colour which I'd probably like a lot more if it weren't so damn frosty.  Even a very light application gives a very frosty effect, which I personally can't stand.  I'll admit to having removed this lipstick fairly sharpish after photographing it, and putting on Burnt Caramel again.

Bleh.  Do you think you could work this shade?

Left to right
English Rose, Mulberry, Ruby Tuesday, Burnt Caramel, Pink Brandy, Bewitching Coral, Chilli

Max Factor Colour Elixir lipsticks are available in 15 shades and cost a very reasonable £7.99 each. Stay tuned for more shades this week!

  1. Call me crazy, but this looks stunning on you! I know what you mean, its an old fashioned colour and I wouldn't choose it, but trust me, it really does look good!

  2. I think it looks more frosty in real life, maybe. I think I'd love the colour if it weren't frosty... but the frost just puts me off!

  3. You have such gorgeous lips - perfect for these swatches. Like Charlie, I think it does suit you. I was very tempted to go after Burnt Caremel though, after your pics of that. It's not one I've seen in real life as neither Boots nor Superdrug had it on their stands.

  4. I've got a similar lipstick from Prestige. It's so frosty but cos of the frost lipglosses work great over the top. Give it a go! I use a little creamy nude gloss and it becomes a nice shimmer.
