Review & Swatches: ELF Brightening Eyeshadow Quads

Be warned - this is going to be a very image heavy post!  I recently scored 10 ELF brightening eyeshadow quads as a free gift with an order - so I figured I'd better swatch them.  Costing a mere £1.50 each, these eyeshadow quads are certainly cheap - but are they cheerful?  Continue on after the jump to see a whole heap o'swatches...

And so, the verdict?  I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of these eyeshadows.  I was expecting a sheer, chalky affair, and whilst there certainly are a few shades which are chalky and a bit meh, there are some real stand outs.  Colour payoff is surprisingly good, and the metallic shades require a relatively small amount of shadow to get a good opaque result.  Some of the shimmer and matte shades require that you pack on the colour with a firm brush, but for £1.50 a quad, you can't really complain.

My picks?  Day 2 Night, for its beautiful metallics (that copper is divine); Ivy, for its unusual yet still wearable shimmery shades; Punk Funk, for its rather decent matte purple and blue, and that incredibly shiny pink; and Teal Dream, for its beautifully metallic shades of teal and green.
