Estee Lauder haul

Having been consistently impressed with the sample products we've received from Estee Lauder in recent months, I decided to purchase a few more bits from the range for myself. I used Boots' latest Advantage Card offer of £7.50 in points when you buy 3 premium cosmetic items. That was all the enabling I needed.

Here's what I picked up...

First - Pure Color Lipstick in Bois de Rose (£18). This is a creme shade, but actually applies quite translucent and sheer. It also has a bit of a shimmer. As with all Pure Colour lipsticks, it has well-made, durable packaging and a scent of figs.

After a long period of curiosity (and much picking up and putting down and swatching of testers on counters), I also purchased one of Estee Lauder's Signature Blushes in Rose Nuance (£23.50). This is a sheer and buildable blush with a unique format - the shade in the pan follows a gradient from white to rose pink. I expected the white part to be a shimmery highlight, but it's actually fairly matte. The swatches below show how sheer it is. The compact is superb - sturdy with a smooth opening action and a large, useful mirror. There's also a small touch-up brush included.

Finally, I picked up one of the excellent DoubleWear ShadowCremes in 25 Smoky Plum (£15.50). (Had I bought online, I would have received a free gift - a mini GWP set with 2 or more purchases.) We have been extremely impressed with these creme shadows, which are virtually crease-proof and extremely easy to apply.

  1. Love the look of the lipstick, and I've actually lemming another one of the Nuance blushes - the Peach Nuance one :)

  2. Smoky Plum is very nice. I've heard good things about their cream eyeshadows and must get a few to try.
