Review & Swatches: NARS Blush in Douceur

Disclosure: PR sample

I really like NARS blushes.  The packaging is both pretty and robust, the powder itself is soft, well pigmented, and easy to build up, and the shades are numerous.  I was excited to receive Douceur, therefore, not just because NARS blushes are always great quality, but also because of the shade - it's a soft, slightly pinkish brown, which looks like the perfect neutral blush for my skintone in the pan.

And indeed - it is.  There's enough warmth and pinkness in there to stop it being a flat brown and differentiate it from a bronzer, but it's definitely neutral, and so far hasn't looked out of place against the strong eye and lip looks I like to wear.

Even on a completely makeup free face, it adds interest and colour, without looking obviously made up.

Douceur has become my go-to blush for pairing with brightly coloured eye and lip looks.  Absolutely beautiful.  At £20.50, it isn't cheap, but with the usual excellent pigmentation you get from NARS blushes, coupled with the versatility of this particular shade, entirely worth it, in my view!

If you'd like to try this for yourself, you'll find it online at the NARS website, where it will cost £20.50.

  1. It really looks lovely on you! It's a bit more browny on me but you're right, it goes great with bright lips or eyes.

  3. This is a colour that I'm really tempted by. I like neutral blushers that accentuate the cheeks without looking obvious. When I've swatched it before it hasn't really shown up but since then I bought RBR Delicata and know that, whilst a colour might not show up much on my arm, it will probably look more interesting on my cheeks! Thanks for the lovely review.
