NOTD: Orly Rage

Disclosure: PR sample

This is Rage, one of three ultra-foil effect polishes released by Orly to come close to the Minx effect with a polish.  It's a rosy-bronzy-gold shade which is very flattering on my gold-hating skin, and the foil effect is staggering - every time I've worn this, I've found myself staring at the way the light plays off it.

Opacity is pretty decent - this is two coats, and although you can see a bit of visible nail line on my thumb, when the light hits the polish, the metallic shine coming off the nail is such that you don't even notice the nail line.  A third coat would even it all out if VNL bothers you.  Wear was very good - I get about four days from this with a decent topcoat.

If you'd like to try this one for yourself, you'll find it at CoolBlades for £4.49 (or on eBay for a bit more).  There are two other shades available in this collection - Luxe, a true gold, and Shine, a very metallic looking silver - which I'm very, very tempted by.

  1. ive got the luxe, and im not by any means a foil expert, but the minx are like mirror shine, this isnt, its a dazzling spanking gold, which looks good in its own right, but i dont think polish will ever come close to foils in my opinion

  2. I absolutely adore this colour and have it myself, but do agree with Louise about the Minx foils too. Both very nice but not the same. Lovely post xx

  3. I agree, a paintable polish will never replicate that truly sheet metal effect - but I think that it's still rather gorgeous!

  4. love it!
been dying to find a dececnt metallic that doesnt flake after the first day.
