NOTD: Essie Lapis of Luxury

If you're impatiently waiting for the blue skies of springtime, you might share my enthusiasm for this polish from Essie. It's from their summer 2010 collection and I picked it up in the Zuneta January sale.

Typically for Essie, this polish stands out for its smooth, shiny finish and distinctive colour. It's a dusty cerulean blue with just a hint of mauve. For me it's a perfect "blue sky" blue. On the nail, the colour appears slightly brighter and darker than in the bottle (see below), but the difference is minimal.

These pictures show 3 coats of Lapis of Luxury plus Seche Vite topcoat. I find application decent, if not totally drag-free. Wear is superb, with 3 or 4 days elapsing before tip-wear is visible. The bottle is a generous 15mls, good for many manicures taking me into spring and summer.

Zuneta currently have this product on sale for £6.00 plus postage. It's well worth snapping up!

  1. I was dithering over placing a Zuneta order for one of the new RBR cream eyeshadows, and I think you just pushed me over the edge with this. I love it. The colour reminds me a bit of the icy blue from Le Metier last spring, but nicer.
