NOTD: Orly Halley's Comet

This is Orly's Halley's Comet, a gorgeous teal shimmer with a foiled, ultra sparkly (but not at all glittery) finish.  My camera has pulled the blue out of the shade; in reality it's much closer to teal than the swimming pool blue shown here: many other photos in the blogosphere show the same problem.  I guess we'll just have to resign ourselves to not being able to entirely accurately photograph this shade.

And indeed - the beauty of this shade is very hard to capture on camera.  In person, it's got an intense foil finish which catches the light prettily and is very, very eyecatching.  Orly's Cosmic FX range, from which this shade hails, is full of polishes with this finish.  Most of them also have a fairly strong duochrome - this is probably the most subtle, duochrome wise, out of the range.

Anyway - I love the effect so much I've bought three more polishes from the collection.  For me, these are pretty much perfect; as much as I love glitter finishes, they are a pain in the arse to get off the nail.  These have all the sparkle, depth, and eye-catching qualities but are easy to remove.  Simply glorious.

Three coats for ultimate opacity, and the polish itself is well textured, being medium thickness, easy to spread, and easy to apply smoothly.  Not a massive fan of the brush, though: it's a bit on the skinny side, requiring several stripes across the nail to cover.

If you'd like to grab a few of these, you can find them at Beauty Chamber, where they will cost you £8.95 each.  Shipping is very fast, too - I received my order within two days of placing it.
