NOTD - Lippman Bad Romance, exclusive to House of Fraser Apothecary

Disclosure - PR sample
Here is another killer glitterbomb from Deborah Lippmann - "Bad Romance". It's a black creme base that's jam-packed with royal purple glitter and hexagonal foil particles.

The application here is two coats, which is plenty to achieve an opaque effect with plenty of bling, even without careful brush-work. Lesser glitter polishes might require many more coats to get the same look as the polish in the bottle, but with Lippmann the sparkle-dose is so generous that this just isn't a concern.

Once applied, the spangles appear partly submerged in the black base, giving a more put-together, three-dimensional look than a regular glitter top coat. With a glop of Seche Vite on top, the finish is pretty smooth too, and there are no jutting edges to speak of.

Aside from the fact that it puts the annoyingly catchy Lady Gaga tune into my head every time I see my nails now, I can find no faults with Bad Romance. I'm giving this polish a big spangly thumbs-up.

Deborah Lippmann's range of nail colours will be sold exclusively in the UK by Apothecary at House of Fraser, launching in mid October online and in selected stores. The colours cost £14 per 15ml and are 3-free.

  2. That is very special. Both of you are really tempting me with these grown up glitter polishes. I feel purchases coming on!
