Oh, I'm bereft. My much loved tube of Lancome Hypnose Drama is nearing the end of it's life. I can always tell when this time is approaching with Lancome mascaras: they start going a bit dry, and I start to notice flaking at the end of the day.
Since I've been uncommonly faithful and had two tubes of Hypnose Drama in a row, I'm getting itchy, err, eyelashes. I fancy trying something new. So, I'm asking you - any recommendations? Anything you'd like to see reviewed? High end, low end, I don't really care so long as it's black and volumising I'm happy!

Chanel exceptionnel! It's my HG, it has combs on the three corners of the brush to separate and brushes on the three sides to add volume. I get
ReplyDeletelots of volume with the brush side and then swivel the brush and use the comb to define and add length. Falsies in a tube!
an unlikely contender... but ELD Mineral Infused Mascara is actually amazing...! and they dont test on animals =D
ReplyDeletethat was obviously supposed to say ELF lol
ReplyDeleteMy personal fave in and out of my kit is Dior Show its a wonderful mascara. I find it gives a very full lash effect which I love!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE Buxom (Bare Escentuals). It fans out and lengthens my fine lashes!
ReplyDelete@Emma: I went through a DiorShow phase ages ago but on sleepy mornings found the massive brush a bit hard to control! Maybe time to reexplore..
ReplyDeleteNot tried Chanel Exceptionnel, and never tried any mascara by ELF or Bare Escentuals - so they might be strong contenders - thanks for the recommendations, all!
I recently got MAC plush mascara, for volumising and curling. The brush seems simlar to benefit Bad Gal (long dense bristles) and the formula is fantastic. One coat for work, two coats for play - easy peasy!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried or reviewed the Givenchy Phenomen'eyes? Or maybe something obscenely expensive like from Guerlain.
ReplyDeleteOooh and then there's that gimmicky Rimmel London one with 3 levels that let you choose what kind of definition you want - I think it'll probably be crap but I havent really seen any reviews yet.
And mineral mascaras!
I am totally in love with Helena Rubinstein's Lash Queen mascara. Since i use that, i haven't liked any other one i tried.
ReplyDeleteIt is horribly expensive, but it really is the queen of the lashes :-p
I absolutely love Lash Discovery by Maybelline if you want to lengthen, I've never found anything better than it. It can really tease your lashes out. For all around great mascara, you can't beat Max Factor's 2000 calories. The formula's a little drier than most mascaras which actually works better for some reason. Any Max Factor is great for mascara.
ReplyDeleteLots of great recommendations here, thanks guys! I suspect I'll be having a trawl around Boots this weekend to see what's what.
ReplyDeleteChiara - I'm not sure I've ever seen a Helena Rubinstein counter! Where did you get yours from?
I live in the Netherlands, but i buy mine from the more posh cosmetics stores. We don't have counters either. I think Helena Rubinstein's website gives salepoints.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see how you like the recommended mascaras.
My favourite is Lancome Oscillation but i've just found out they test on animals :( I need to find one that doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI love and swear by my Max Factor False Lash Effect. LOVE. Great for volume and length, and 'ages' very very well - the waterproof formula in particular, which can come out a little thick for the first 5-10 uses.
