As I'm always banging on about duochromes, and am especially fond of those that appear in the natural world, my choice is pretty obvious. My entry to the contest is below.
A polish in tribute to the jewelled beauty of the rose chafer. Clinging to the fingertips like 6 delicate legs, shimmering rose gold and green like the multi-faceted wing-cases of this gentle springtime insect. Vibrant and shining, shifting colours on a blue-black base. An unconventional beauty brought into the spotlight.
I am not doing the Illamasqua competition but that would have been the colour I would have gone for too... the truest beauty comes from nature itself...
ReplyDeleteI've had the perfect idea for my Illamasqua shade and the inspiration. The only problem I hvae is that whenever I go to the site to have a look at the entry requirements, I always get waylaid looking at the lipsticks.

ReplyDeleteLaura Mercier did a kind of greeny black that had that kinda beetle sheen...in my head I called it Beetleback Black but that wasn't its real name.
